Teaching the body parts is always a lot of fun- especially because there are so many different activities that you can do with this unit. In the next few posts I’ll be sharing some of my activities and resources.
I like to introduce this unit with a few fun children’s songs- the first one is an adaptation of the classic “head, shoulders, knees and toes”. A colleague of mine, Carolina Gómez makes amazing CD’s for her preschool/elementary Spanish classes and they are perfect for my Spanish 1 students. Not only are they short, sweet and catchy but they incorporate authentic instruments and sounds from Colombia and the Spanish-speaking world.
Cabeza, Hombros, Piernas, Pies is on Youtube- check it out!
She has another great song I just discovered today- Baila la cumbia. It’s not on youtube but you can listen to it on her website and I highly recommend purchasing her CD’s for your collection.
